15 Weeks

I looked at one of my pregnancy apps this morning and it said I have 25 weeks remaining. If my doctor still wants to take the babies at 35 weeks (which is what we talked about at my appointment), then that means I only have 20 weeks remaining. With only 20 weeks left, I am at the point in my pregnancy where most people are already halfway through their pregnancy Crazy!

If you've talked to me in the past few days, you already know that I'm not quite convinced these babies are girls. I've had a very strong feeling from the very beginning (just as I did with Braysen) that they are boys. My main purpose in doing the early gender scan was to get confirmation that they were indeed boys so I could get started with my planning. Never in a million years did I expect the tech to tell me they are girls.

I'm still not buying it. I guess I will have to wait for my doc to confirm it for me.

That did not, however, stop me from buying some girly clothes while my mom and I were out shopping today. I swore to myself that I wouldn't start buying clothes, planning the nursery, pick names, etc. until I talked to my doctor because I didn't want to get too attached to the idea of girls just to start all over when I find out they are boys. But the threat of only 20 weeks remaining scared me a little and I did do a little looking and buying today. I of course saved receipts so if I have to return them I can.

What's really weird is that a lot of the strange little aches and pains that I experienced in my 3rd trimester with Braysen are already back! I'm not sure if it's because it's my 2nd pregnancy or because there are two babies, but it seems way too early to have some of these symptoms and I hope they don't get worse as this pregnancy progresses. They're not bothersome enough to complain about, just irritating. I hope they stay that way.

14 Weeks

I was officially 14 weeks yesterday. Sorry about the blurry picture. This is what happens when you take your picture at 11 at night with the self timer on your camera. Sorry about the hair too. Braysen had swim lessons. Not that we actually went to his lesson. My pregnancy brain reared its ugly head again yesterday. We left our house in order to make it to his lesson at 10:30. I had some running around to do before and I made sure we had plenty of time to get everything done. I was headed to Corona and talking on the phone to my mom at about 9:45 when she reminded me that I had changed him to the 10:00 class over a month ago! We have been going to the 10:00 class, so I have no idea why I was thinking 10:30. So he missed his class.

Braysen's been doing really well in class. He can almost float on his back all by himself. I have just one finger under him, and I know if I take my hand away he can do it on his own, but the moment he feels me not touching him he panics, wiggles around, and then sinks like a rock. His instructor said that she thinks he will have it very soon. I want to keep him in for as long as I can keep going. I know after the babies come it will pretty much be impossible for him to take swimming lessons and get in the water with him, and I'd really like him to have as many skills as possible by next summer.

We made an appointment for a gender determination ultrasound. We found a place that will do it at 14 weeks, so the day that my doc bumped up my due date, I called the ultrasound place. We're going tonight and then having our family over for a little gender reveal! I can't wait to find out!

13 Weeks

I'm a little late with my post for 13 weeks, it should have been posted on Tuesday. In my defense, there isn't always somebody here to snap my photo on days when I've actually gotten ready. Don't get me wrong, I get up and get dressed every day. Changing out of my jammies and putting on yoga pants counts as getting dressed, right? But I do not do hair and makeup unless I have to leave the house.

Today I had an appointment to finally see my new doctor at Kaiser. I saw a nurse last week and had all my labwork done. I LOVE my new doctor!!!! She actually bumped up my due date, so I will be officially 14 weeks tomorrow!

Now for the big news. She was able to confirm that while the babies are in each in their own amniotic sac, they do share a placenta, which means that they are identical! So all of you that voted boy/girl in my poll, you were wrong! Sorry! You can change your vote through Saturday though! :)

12 Weeks

12 week pregnancy

I'm not completely thrilled with my chalkboard this week.  I was tired the night I did it, and it's not like I get a second chance to fix it or redo it when Braysen is awake.  He just erases it as fast as I can write!

Also, please don't mind how messes the frame and the outside of it look. My dad sanded the sides down and painted it for me, so it's already fixed, even as I type this!

I am looking forward to finally seeing my new doc this week. I had to switch to Tony's insurance because I'm not teaching anymore, so I no longer have insurance through RUSD. Switching insurance also meant switching doctors.

Puppy

You may remember this post from over a year and a half ago when we took Sawyer and Braysen to Build-A-Bear. The dog that Braysen brought home that day has pretty much only been touched when Braysen moves it out of his chair when he wants to sit in it.

Somehow, out of nowhere, the dog that he recently named "Puppy" has been attached to Braysen's hip.  Wednesday night we took the big stroller out of the car to put it away.  It sat in the front hallway for a little while. At some point while I was cooking dinner, Braysen came into the kitchen pushing Puppy in the stroller. That was the beginning. Later at dinner he cried because he wanted puppy to sit with him.

In this picture he was telling me to not take a picture of his Puppy. Haha.

When it was bedtime, He didn't say anything about Puppy, so we did his regular routine and he went to bed.

He woke up at 4am and came to our room bawling because he didn't have his puppy. Really?

Puppy really has not left his side since that morning. He eats dinner with Braysen every night, rides bikes, cuddles on the couch, and goes to bed with him every night. It's funny because Braysen carries full on conversations with Puppy complete with asking questions to see if he's full, cold, comfy, etc.

Random Thursday Thoughts

  • I have been trying to work out every day. Some days are more difficult than others. I think I'm going to do a separate post about what I've been doing.
  • I have come to terms with the fact that I will need to buy some maternity clothes at some point (hopefully not any time soon) for this pregnancy. I just wore regular clothes a size bigger or wore my Be Band with my regular jeans when I was pregnant with Braysen. I'm pretty sure I will have a hard time getting non-maternity clothes stretched around my tummy. This makes me sad.
  • Braysen's potty businesses going really well. It's rare that he has an accident during the day, and when he does, it's always because he was too involved with his playing that he didn't realize he had to go. He is waking up dry from almost all naps and occasionally wakes up dry in the morning from all night.
  • I bought this huge tub-o-caramel when we were in Oak Glen. I may or may not have had a sliced apple drizzled with caramel every night since then. My original plan was to use the caramel for treats I was going to make for our gender reveal, but if I keep up at the rate I've been going, I will be driving back to Oak Glen to get more!

  • I see my new doctor on the 11th. I am very excited but very nervous as I've always had the same OB and have never even set foot in a Kaiser building before. Everything is just so institutionalized and I'm not used to it. I had to make my appointment through a main call center, not through the doctor's office staff, and when I called to figure out where to have my records from my previous doc faxed it was a nightmare. I called 3 different numbers before somebody was able to tell me to fax the records to their main office, not to the doc themselves.
  • I picked up a couple more pairs of yoga pants the other day at Target. I had to dress in nice clothes every day to go to work during my first pregnancy. I don't really have much in the way of comfy clothes besides my jammies and there's no way I'm staying in those all day! Yoga pants seem like a logical choice.
  • My diet checklist has hit the back burner. I am still using it as a reference, but I'm listening to my body and eating when I feel hungry, not just eating off the list all day long to dry to check everything off.
  • We have been talking about moving for over a year now. We're not sure where we want to go or what we want to do with this house, but we do know that we want to be somewhere else. I would really like to sell the house and buy something else, but Tony doesn't really want to sell it. He would rather rent it out and find a rental somewhere. Personally, I don't know if I really want to deal with a rental property. I have nightmares about people not paying rent or thrashing our house. I had a friend give me a recommendation for a rental company.  I called them a week ago and they still have not called me back. I don't think I want to do business with a rental company that doesn't return phone calls, so I am still looking around.
  • Thank goodness for cooler days! This was the forecast from last night. Such a drastic change from the 108 temp we had on Monday!

11 Weeks

11 Weeks

However, this picture is a little deceiving, the shadow produced by the camera makes me look a little bigger than I actually am. I didn't notice the shadow until I uploaded the picture on the computer and by then I didn't feel like taking another one. Ha!

I picked out the molding at Home Depot and Tony cut it. A few strips of wood glue and ta-da, I have a frame. I still need to use some filler in the cracks between the pieces and paint it, but it's almost done.

I did a close up of the picture so you can see that the shadow did exaggerate my bump a little bit.

Knott's Berry Farm

I know I've really slacked with blogging the last few days. It seems as if I can either keep my picked up all day, keep up with my block orders, or blog, but not all three at once. This may have something to do with the fact that several times this week my body has literally forced me to park it on the couch and rest for a few. It always happens around 3pm. Lucky for me Tony has been working nights this week and has been able to take Braysen outside or entertain him when my body goes into rest mode. I honestly don't know what I'm going to do if this happens next week while he's at work!

Last week my mom and I took Braysen to Knott's. He loved it, like usual. He loves all the rides and be loves Snoopy, or "Noopy" as he says. I love roller coasters (don't worry, I didn't ride any that day) and my mom is even crazier about them. There were several rides that Braysen wanted to ride but he just wasn't tall enough yet. I have a feeling he's going to be one of those little kids that wants to ride the scary roller coasters before he's big enough!

This last pictures makes me laugh every time I look at it. Every. Single. Time. My mom took Braysen on the Log Ride. I know it looks like Braysen is scared to death, I think his face is just the reaction to the tickle in his tummy. The first words out of his mouth after they got to the bottom was, "I all wet!"  At the end of the day, after he had gone on pretty much every thing and we had some more time still, we asked him what he wanted to go on again and he told us the ride with the water! Hahaha, this kid is crazy!
