Rock Layer Cake

I decided to use my cake-bakin skills to whip something up for my students. I used cake to teach a lesson on relative dating. My original idea on how to create this cake didn't work. It still looked kinda cool, though. I guess if I ever need a tie-dye cake I know how to do one! I ended up opting to bake 4 separate layers for each class.

Since I can't post pictures of my students on my blog, I simply cropped them out of the pictures.
